Wai Ora, Mauri Ora
The Science Exhibition and Interpretation paper at the University of Otago’s Centre for Science Communication puts on an exhibition at the Otago Museum every year. In 2017, the class partnered with Te Koronga and the Indigenous Science Research Theme to present Wai Ora, Mauri Ora - Healthy Environments, Healthy People. The goal of the exhibition was to highlight examples or research that incorporated different sources of knowledge.
My exhibit in the Wai Ora, Mauri Ora exhibition revolved around the translocation of Archey’s Frog on the North Island of New Zealand. Researchers who led the translocation of the frogs brought local iwi into the project to assist in population counts to monitor the frogs success in their new homes.
